Collector begins search for new offices in Nandyal
Kurnool: District collector G Veera Pandiyan said that the government is likely to announce Nandyal as a new district. Veera Pandiyan accompanied with joint collector Ramasunder Reddy and Nandyal Sub Collector Kalpana Kumari inspected Municipal office, the school hostels at Nandi green homes, Roads and Buildings office and Revenue Division Office at Nandyal on Saturday as part of feasibility to set up temporary government offices.
Speaking to media, the collector said that recently the government has decided to reorganise some districts in addition to the existing ones. Under the reorganisation of district, Kurnool has been split into two districts. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to announce Nandyal as new district. If Nandyal is made new district, then it needs a collector office, SP office and court buildings besides many more. Following the orders of the government, Veera Pandiyan said Nandyal Sub Collector Kalpana Kumari would pursue the feasibility to set up the offices. He said Kalpana Kumari was ordered to prepare a detailed report and submit at the earliest possibility so that it could be forwarded to the government.
Commissioner of Nandyal Municipal Corporation Venkata Krishna, Tahsildar Ravi Kumar and others also accompanied collector while pursuing the offices.
