Collector Md Imtiaz inspects Vijayawada Railway station

Vijayawada: District Collector Md Imtiaz on Saturday suggested the Railway authorities to arrange more sanitizers and infrared thermometers to screen more passengers travelling in the trains. The Collector along with Joint Collector K Madhavi Latha and Sub-collector Dhyana Chandra made a surprise visit to Railway station on Saturday and inspected arrangements made to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

He inspected the functioning of infrared thermometers and queue lines.

Speaking on the occasion, Imtiaz said the Railway authorities have to increase vigil on the passengers and prevent the corona infected persons from travelling in the trains. He suggested them to conduct medical tests immediately if any passenger found with the symptoms of corona. He said Janata Curfew will be observed on Sunday from 7 am to 9 pm and appealed to people to stay indoors. He felt the sanitizers arranged in the Railway station were not sufficient and felt more sanitizers are to be arranged in the station particularly on the platforms and ticket counters.
