Collector stresses on creation of farmer groups in Ongole
Ongole: District Collector P Bhaskar said that the State government would take measures to provide facilities to farmers through farmer's associations. The District Collector convened a meeting with officials concerned on Thursday. He said that farmers associations will be strengthened and farmers will be benefited for joining in farmers associations.
He said that over 1,000 farmers associations would be established and in the months of April and May, soil tests will be done and the farmers will be advised on which crop they should cultivate.
The District Collector said that there would be development of farmers and farmers association if the officials work according to a plan. Ruthu Prakash programme would be implemented to create technical skills among farmers, he said and added that to strengthen farmer associations 4,420 committees should be established which should include women organisations.
He further said that on October 25 agriculture officers, NGO, farmer association representatives should be appointed and training should be given to them at Ongole, SN Padu, Kondapi and Paruchuru constituencies, he added.
