Chittoor: Normally, when the government changes, the transfer of district collectors and SPs of the concerned districts will be imminent.

However, District Collector P S Pradyumna is said to be in safe zone. Pradyumna has already completed his term of two years as district collector. It is obvious to state that Pradyumna has maintained cordial relations with the ruling TDP and opposition YSRCP leaders during the last two years.

Unpredictably, YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy won with landslide victory in the just concluded Assembly elections. In the recent general elections, repolling took place in seven polling stations of Chandragiri Assembly constituency. In this regard, the Election Commission (EC) had suspended the presiding officers and assist presiding officers concerned for irregularities in polling.

The media has also predicted that EC will take action against District Election Officer Pradyumna for the irregularities and violence witnessed in the segment. But no action has been initiated against Pradyumna by the EC.

During his visit to Tirupati on Wednesday, Jaganmohan Reddy, the CM-designate, reportedly assured Pradyumna for continuing his services at Chittoor without transferring him.
