Conference on renewable energy concludes in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: N Rajyalakshmi, senior scientist and team leader, Centre for Fuel Cell Technology, ARCI, IIT Madras Research Park explained the role of fuel cells for the power generation and domestic applications.

She highlighted the key research areas such as fuel cell electrodes, coatings, electrolytes and characteristics of fuel cells. She was the chief guest of the concluding day of the two-day international conference on Advances in Renowned Renewable Energy Technologies held at VR Siddhartha Enbgineering College here on Thursday.

She also emphasized the scope & opportunity for the researches to pursue the research related to fuel cells. She presented case studies & industrial application of fuel cells.

Dr K Srinivas Reddy, Professor, department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Madras said that there is more scope to focus on renewable energy to harness the power than conventional energy conversional technologies.

He focused on the use and applications of the integrated systems to meet the power requirement as per the demand. He presented the case studies related to integrated systems to inspire the young professionals.

Dr Srikath Narasimalu, programme director, Dr Anand Shivapuji, senior research scientist, Prof Anirbid Sircar, Director General(Acting)-GERMI School of Petroleum Technology, Dr Sudhir Kumar, former Jt Director & Head, Centre for Solar Energy, World Institute of Sustainable Energy, Pune and others spoke on the occasion.
