Congress alone can achieve SCS: Ramani Kumari

Visakhapatnam: The Congress party candidate for Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency, Pedada Ramani Kumari, on Sunday said that the Congress alone can achieve Special Category Status (SCS) to the State.

Addressing media here on Sunday, Ramani Kumari asserted that AICC president Rahul Gandhi would sign the first file on SCS if the party was voted to power. Taking a dig at the BJP-led NDA government for the present state of affairs, she alleged that the saffron party utterly failed to fulfill the promises made to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Pointing out that the BJP-led government at the Centre promised to accord Special Category Status to the State, she said however, it took a U-turn after assuming office at the Centre.Terming the scraping of high denomination notes without any homework led to chaos in the country, the Congress leader said all sections of people suffered due to the Centre's decision.

Ramani Kumari stated that she along with other Congress nominees would file nomination papers on Monday. Congress nominee for Visakhapatnam North constituency G Govind and others were present.
