Congress promises Special status to AP in 2019 elections manifesto
Hyderabad: The AICC has released the election manifesto 2019 on Tuesday. Regarding Andhra Pradesh, the Congress party has said to give special status, now the party has even included the special status promise to AP in the manifesto.
To the special status announcement by the former PM Manmohan Singh in Rajya Sabha on 20 February 2014, the Congress party has included it in the election manifesto 2019.
The Congress party gives assurance that along with AP, the special status for the Northeastern states will also be restored.
Before 2014 elections in AP, the BJP has promised to declare special status, but after coming into the power they said no for that.
The AICC president Rahul Gandhi has said from various platforms that once the Congress party makes the government in the central, then they will for sure give the special status to AP.
Recently, with the inclusion of this issue in the election manifesto, the Congress party may get the sympathy of Andhra people in the coming elections.
