Congress protests Priyanka's arrest in UP

Mandapeta: Congress party activists staged a protest demonstration and road blockade here on Saturday against the arrest of AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Wadhra.

The party activists led by AICC member and APCC official spokesperson Kamana Prabhakara Rao assembled at Kalavapuvvu centre in the town and staged the protest.

Addressing the protest, Kamana condemned the arrest of Priyanka, who went to console those injured in the Sonbhadra clash that claimed 10 lives. Through this act, the BJP government in UP had thrown all the democratic norms into wind in arresting the women Congress leader, he said.
