Contractor's apathy keeps sports complex works pending in Tirupati
Tirupati: Various developmental works have been kept pending for the past some months at Srinivasam Sports Complex (SSC) in the town. Municipal Corporation of Tirupati had taken up various developmental works under Smart City Project one year ago and development works remain unfinished in sports complex.
The engineering department of TMC had taken up the works with a cost of Rs 1 crore and it was planned to improve facilities for shuttle badminton , swimming pool and tennis. They completed tennis court repairs and alteration of swimming pool works. The contractor did not complete the cricket net set up and children play area construction works so far.
He dug a pit and dumped the soil heaps on internal roads of the complex. According to sources , the contractor is not informing the work details in sports complex to the officials. Even Vinayaka temple platform construction at the entrance of the complex is also pending for some months. Players coming to the complex are facing hardships to park their vehicles as building materials have been dumped on the roads.
