Contractors demand release of pending arrears in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Building Contractors Association President P Raju demanded that the State government release the pending bills to the tune of Rs 500 crore for the construction of government buildings.
Addressing the media persons here on Sunday, Raju said that if the government fails to address their issue they would not participated in any government tenders in the coming six months. He said that there was corruption in the previous TDP government and the present YSRCP government did not release any amount in the pending Rs 500 crore which were due from the government.
He appealed to the government to release the pending bills and do justice to them. He recalled the former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had issued GO 94 and 35 to support the contractors and demanded that the chief minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy immediately release the pending bills.
Association member Srinivas Reddy recalled that the previous government had given sand free to the contractors and appealed to the present government to release sand policy soon.
