Cops deny permission for Pawan Kalyan's meet today
Kakinada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan was denied permission to conduct a public meeting at Divi's Pharma Unit at Kothapakalu of Thondangi mandal in East Godavari district on Saturday. District superintendent of police Asmi said that no permission was accorded to Jana Sena Party's public meeting and dharna at Divi's Pharma Unit. He said that as Section 144 and 30 of police act was in force, no public meetings and protest programmes allowed. Meanwhile, the JSP representatives did not submit proper details and documents for the permission to their proposed programme.
Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee president Nadendla Manohar condemned the undemocratic attitude of the SP Asmi. In the press release, Manohar said that in view of the high pollution which would endanger the lives of thousands of people residing in the area, Pawan Kalyan took up the case to protest and prevent the establishment of Divi's Pharma.
He said that whatever may be the hurdles, Pawan Kalyan decided to conduct the meeting and help the Divi's victims. With the help of the police, if the government wants to prevent the Jana Sena's meetings, the government would be responsible for any of the consequences, he said.
