Coronavirus effect: Shrimp industry shrinks in AP with the decrease in foreign exports

The Coronavirus, which shook the world has now hit the shrimp traders in Andhra Pradesh resulting in lowering the prices of shrimp over the past week due to a decline in exports from our country to China and Japan. The traders are very much concerned that these prices will continue to fall over time. On the other hand, the Merchants have increased costs of grazes provided for the shrimp growth with the decrease in imports, which left the aqua farmers in a state of disorientation. In the name of Corona, the price has been reduced by Rs. 30.

Traders have reportedly cut prices from farmers as almost all countries in the world have stopped shrimp imports from India due to the corona effect caused in China. Traders claim that exports have slowed down due to the decrease in consumption as advised by doctors.

The cost of 100 counts of shrimp, which is at RS 240 is now decreased to Rs. 210, and 90-count shrimp, which is at Rs 250, is now reduced to Rs. 220. The price of 80-county shrimp was Rs. 260 a week ago, and now it is Rs. 230. Now all varieties of count shrimp have a difference of Rs 30 per week.
