Lockdown in Andhra Pradesh: As the Coronavirus epidemic continues to increase day by day, the AP government is contemplating to impose lockdown once again at containment zones. With more than 500 cases being reported every day in the state, the AP government has decided to impose lockdown where the situation is in a serious situation.

District collectors are taking measures to contain the spread by imposing regulations at containment zones. Already 47 wards in Vijayawada have been locked downband restrictions are being enforced unofficially.

Meanwhile, the Ongole district collector has decided to implement a 14-day lockdown from Sunday and essential necessities are provided to the household. On the other hand, in view of the spread of the virus in Anantapur district, the lockdown is scheduled to be implemented from Sunday giving relaxations only in the morning.

Other states allow them to towns in the Andhra Pradesh only if they are strictly permitted. Most of the positive cases reported in Andhra Pradesh are related to Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra and Telangana returnees. Hence the government has decided to impose lockdown wherever the situation is severe.

Andhra Pradesh reported 491 positive cases in the state. The number of positive cases in the state so far has reached 8,452. Of these, 390 cases were reported in the state and 83 were from other states and 18 from abroad. There were five fatalities in the state in with two each in Krishna and Kurnool and one in Guntur districts respectively on Saturday.
