Coronavirus outbreak: TTD shuts Alipiri toll gate and halts services to devotees
The fast-spreading coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh has hit the temples, churches, mosques whatnot. Meanwhile, the Tirumala Tirupati Temple authorities have taken a crucial decision to stall all the services for devotees at the temple. In this backdrop, the TTD officials decided to close the Alipiri Toll Gate and the pilgrims' vehicles were blocked from going up the Tirumala hill on Thursday.
TTD officials have also closed the routes to leading to Srivari temple and given orders to suspend the services from 12 noon on Friday. However, the services of the priests will reportedly be held in a separate service as per convenience.
On the other hand, a person from Uttar Pradesh who came to Srivari's darshan had fallen sick. He was diagnosed with fever, cough and cold. He was then rushed to the Isolation Ward of RUIA Hospital. Corona has positively affected 166 people in the country so far.
Earlier, the officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Temple have convened a meeting over coronavirus on Thursday and late disclosed the decision of stalling all the services at TTD.
