Coronavirus positive man in Nellore now tests negative for virus
Nellore: The fresh report of the patient who was earlier declared as corona positive case in now appeared negative. The Andhra Pradesh Nodal Center, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, which tested the suspect reportedly confirmed negative on Saturday.
It may be recalled that a youngster from the city who completed his MS in Italy returned on March 6. The medical and health officials asked him to go for self quarantine at his home for 14 days.
However, after suffering dry cough and cold, the officials shifted him to the isolation ward at the GGH on March 8 and sent the samples for test at SVIMS, Tirupati. The test was initially found interim positive and subsequently, the National Institute of Virology, Pune confirmed it as a positive.
He has been under treatment at the isolation ward in the Government General Hospital and doctors have sent the samples again to the SVIMS for test which confirmed negative, according to sources. Medical and health officials and teams deputed at the GGH heaved a sigh of relief with the negative result.
