Coronavirus update: Andhra Pradesh registers 458 new cases, takes tally to 8,77,806
Coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh are declining from last month. According to a bulletin released on Friday, 69,062 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and another 458 positive cases were reported. The total number of coronavirus cases across the state reached 8,77,806. Meanwhile, one person died in Guntur in the past 24 hours, which brings the total death toll to 7070. The health ministry said 534 people had recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total number of people recovered from the coronavirus to 8,66,359 while another 4,454 people are being treated in hospitals.
As per the district-wise data, the highest number of cases recorded in the last 24 hours was 98 in Chittoor district followed by 78 in Krishna district, 41 in Guntur district, 35 in West Godavari district, 54 in East Godavari district, 13 in Srikakulam district, 28 in Visakhapatnam district, 18 in Kadapa district, 26 in Nellore district, 19 in Vizianagaram district and 13 cases were reported in Kurnool district. East Godavari district has the highest number of 1,23,220 positive cases in the state, followed by West Godavari district with 93,609 cases, Chittoor district has 85,294 cases.
Overall, the number of cases is declining and the recovery rate is also increasing. The state has conducted as many as 1,11, 34,359 tests in the state.
