Coronavirus update: AP registers 1031 new positive cases and 8 deaths on Thursday
The coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh has seen a slight hike on Thursday against Wednesday. According to health, bulletin released a short while ago, about 67,269 samples were tested in the last 24 hours where 1031 new positive cases were reported taking the total number of cases across the state to 8,65,705 and eight people have died in the past 24 hours, which brings the total death toll to 6970.
The health bulletin says that the recovery rate also been increased with as many as 1,081 people had recovered in the past 24 hours, which brings the total number of recovered cases to 8,46,120 while 12,615 are being treated at the various coronavirus hospitals. The district-wise number of cases registered in the last 24 hours was 172 in Guntur, 162 in Krishna, 126 in West Godavari, 117 in East Godavari, 122 in Chittoor, 84 in Visakhapatnam, 56 in Anantapur, 55 in Kadapa, 43 in Prakasam, 41 in Nellore, 29 in Vizianagaram, 23 in Srikakulam, 21 in Kurnool respectively.
Meanwhile, East Godavari district has the highest number of 1,22,087 positive cases in the state, followed by West Godavari district with 92,050 cases while Chittoor district has 83,444 cases. The state has conducted 98,55,316 tests overall. As far as deaths, two people died in the Krishna district, one each in Kadapa, Kurnool, East Godavari, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, and West Godavari.
