Coronavirus update: AP reports 357 new positive cases, takes tally to 8,80,075

Coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh have continued to drop again on Thursday. In a bulletin released by the state medical and health department on Thursday, coronavirus tests were performed on 59,551 people in the past 24 hours where 357 people were tested positive, which brings the number of corona infections in the state to 8,80,075. Four people have died of dreadful virus on Wednesday with one each in Krishna, Kadapa, Chittoor and West Godavari respectively. The death toll has risen to 7,089 across the state.

However the number of discharges in the state has increased slightly. On Wednesday, 355 people have recovered taking the total recoveries to 8,69,124 while the number of active cases has dropped to 3,862. The government has tested 1,14,74,797 samples so far across the state, the bulletin said.

The highest number of corona cases was reported in Krishna and Chittoor district on Thursday with 54 new cases in a single day on while the lowest number of four cases was reported in Vizianagaram.
