Counting arrangements reviewed in Guntur

Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar said that the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for counting of votes to be held on May 23 in the district.

Addressing media in the city on Monday, he said Guntur Parliament constituency and Assembly constituencies coming under Guntur Parliamentary constituency and Vemur, Bapatla and Repalle Assembly constituencies votes would be counted at ANU premises. Similarly, Narasaraopet Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies come under the purview of Narasaraopet Parliamentary constituency will be counted at the Loyola Public School at Nallapadu in Guntur city. He said the counting staff were already given training.

He said the counting process will start at 8 am and added that first the staff will count postal ballots and later they will start counting votes from the EVMs.

IGP R K Meena said they have made elaborate security arrangements at counting halls. SP Ch Vijaya Rao, Rural SP SV Rajasekhara Babu, Joint Collector Himanshu Shukla, GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar were present.
