Counting centres set-up at Krishna Varsity

Vijayawada: District Collector Mohamad d Imtiaz instructed the officials to look after facilities at the vote counting centres in Vijayawada and Machilipatnam parliamentary constituencies. Speaking in a teleconference here on Sunday with the concerned officials, he informed that counting centres for Vijayawada and Machilipatnam parliamentary constituencies have been arranged at the Krishna University.

He said that the strong rooms should have only one entry point and a double lock system. Other entry points of the strong rooms (including windows) should be sealed in such a way that no one has access inside the strong rooms, he added. The entry point of the strong room having EVMs shall have CCTV coverage round the clock.

The Collector also gave directions to the officials concerned to take steps and ensure that all arrangements like parking, barricades, food arrangements, toilets and other necessary things on the day of the counting of votes.
