Covid-19 cases rise to 1,331 in Krishna district
Vijayawada: Coronavirus positive cases increased to 1331 on Sunday in Krishna district with 79 new cases reported during the last 24 hours. On the other hand, the Krishna district stood first along with Kurnool in deaths caused by Coronavirus. So far, 58 persons lost their lives due to Covid-19 pandemic in Krishna district.
The district has 701 active cases and 572 persons discharged from the three Covid-19 hospitals in the district. Covid patients are treated in the Covid hospitals at the GGH, Pinnamaneni Siddhartha medical college, Gannavaram and Nimra college in Ibrahimpatnam.
The district administration is conducting Covid-19 tests in Vijayawada, Jaggaiahpet, Nuzvid, Machilipatnam, Nandigama, Ibrahimpatnam and other places where IMASQ buses were arranged for the tests. During the last six days, about 7,000 samples were tested and 10 IMASQ buses along with 15 medical teams were on the job of collecting samples and testing in the district.
In Vijayawada, IMASQ buses are arranged at Krishnalanka, Indira Gandhi Stadium, Gandhiji Municipal High School, Basavapunnaiah Stadium, Ajit Singh Nagar, Gunadala Mary Tower and at Vijayawada Railway Station.
Samples will be drawn and tests will be performed for Covid-19 in the IMASQ buses from 8 am to 5 pm at all these centres.
District Collector Md Imtiaz suggested people should follow the guidelines laid by the government and maintain physical distance, wear masks in the public places.
He said that anyone can get tested for Covid virus free of cost at the IMASQ buses. People can call the customer care number 9963112781 and enroll their names. One can enroll one's name online through http://covid-andhrapradesh.verahealthcare.com, he added.
