Covid-19 positive cases rise to 7 in AP

Amaravati: There is a rise in the number of Covid19 positive cases the State. A total of seven positive cases were reported.

A 25-year-old man, who returned from UK to Visakhapatnam district, tested positive for COVID-19.

He came to Visakhapatnam on March 17 from the UK via Delhi. As soon as he reached Visakhapatnam, the Health authorities scanned him and suggested that he self-quarantine in his home.

Later, he visited Gayatri Vidya Parishad Hospital along with his parents for checkup and he was advised to visit GGHCCD in Visakhapatnam on March 21.

Immediately, he was admitted in the government hospital and samples were collected for coronavirus test. On Monday, he tested positive.

So far, the State government identified more than 14,000 foreign returnees. Blood samples were collected from 181 people. Out of them, 7 tested positive, 166 tested negative. Results are awaited in case 8 samples.

With this new case, the total number COVID19 positive cases in Visakhapatnam are three. The remaining four positive cases were reported from East Godavari, Krishna, Prakasam and Nellore districts.
