Visakhapatnam: The BJP has condemned the blanket order issued by the Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner for providing protection to all the churches under the purview of Police Commissionarate and asking all the station house officers to visit every church once in a month has kicked up a row.

The BJP Dharmika cell has taken serious note of the circular issued by the CP saying that the police had no specific inputs and had simply issued the order based on a petition given by an individual. Such a blanket circular creates a fear psychosis among the Hindus, the party members said.

BJP Dharmika Cell national convener TSK Chaitanya Sarma had condemned the way in which the police were allegedly acting in favour of a particular faith and feared that Visakhapatnam known as peaceful smart city would face issues in the name of religion.

Further, he said that Christian pastors visiting Hindus' houses to invite them to their gospel meetings would now be emboldened to slap cases on Hindus who express reservation over such offers. The circular is totally biased to make the Hindu community vulnerable and file indiscriminate cases against them, he stated.
