Create awareness on c-vigil app, officials told in Eluru
Eluru: The election officials have been asked to give wide publicity for c-vigil investigator mobile app introduced by the Election Commission (EC) so that at least 50,000 people in the district download it.
At a video conference with constituency-level election officers held on Wednesday evening from Eluru, District Collector Praveen Kumar said that the app would be of great help for the voters in exposing candidates distributing money or resorting to any acts of influence voting and filming problems created by wrong doers at the time of elections.
There is immediate need to bring awareness among people on the benefits of the app. The app helps a lot in tackling criminals and avoiding untoward incidents when people also download it on their mobiles apart from polling staff, he said.
The Collector directed video surveillance teams, accounting teams, flying squads and static surveillance teams to work efficiently and submit daily reports to the officials concerned.
They should report on details of the money and liquor seized in the respective mandals on daily-basis.
A model polling station should be set up in each mandal and bring awareness among people on the use of EVMs and VVPATs, he suggested.
