Amaravati: The officials should follow standard operative procedure (SOP) in solving the petitions received during the Spandana programme, said Chief Secretary L V Subrahmanyam while addressing the workshop on 'Spandana Solutions' at the Secretariat here on Friday.

The Chief Secretary said that the number of complaints would come down if there is mutual confidence among the complaints and the government departments.

The officials should not only solve the problems but also inform the same to the complainants, he said.

He instructed the officials to submit the training schedule prepared at the district level for solving the petitions received under Spandana to the planning department. He also instructed them to submit the timeline and standard operative procedure to the planning department in finding solution to the problems.

Subrahmanyam told the secretaries of all departments to integrate the secretaries appointed in the village secretariats with the departments concerned. He said that the Sadaram certificates to the physically-handicapped should be issued by simplifying the procedure. The medical and health department would be given instructions to organise more Sadaram certificate issue centres in the state.

Referring to the housing scheme, he said that names of beneficiaries should be promptly displayed in the village secretariats before starting construction of houses.

Special chief secretaries Manmohan Singh, Poonam Malakondaiah, government advisers Samuel, Lokeswar, Harikrishna, principal secretaries K Damayanti, B Rajasekhar, Ajay Jain, Chief Minister's secretary Salmon Arokia Raj, and other officials were present.
