cVIGIL app helpful for free & fair polls

Bapatla: The cVIGIL app launched by Election Commission of India (ECI) is expected to create a fast-track complaint reception and redressal system on model code of conduct, said M Srinivasa Rao, Returning Officer, Bapatla Assembly Constituency. He released cVIGIL brochure on Saturday in Bapatla.

Election Watch state coordinator Dr PC Sai Babu explained the features of cVIGIL.

Speaking on this occasion, he said cVIGIL is an innovative mobile application for citizens to report Model Code of Conduct and Expenditure violations during the elections.

'cVIGIL' stands for Vigilant Citizen and emphasises the proactive and responsible role citizens can play in the conduct of free and fair elections.

Bapatla Municipal Commissioner G Sravan Kumar said cVIGIL, a user-friendly and easy to operate android application, which can be used for reporting violations from the date of notifications for by-election/ assembly/ parliamentary elections.

The uniqueness of the app is that it only allows live photo/ video with auto location capture from within the app to ensure digital evidence for flying squads to act upon in a time-bound manner.

He asked the people to download the app and help in conducting fair and peaceful elections.
