Delay in filling ATMs due to holidays, clarifies SBI
Kakinada: We have been extending services to bank customers through 126 ATMs under 57 branch networks in Kakinada, said SBI regional manager D Raja Ram Mohan Rao. Every day we are filing the ATM's with Rs 20 crore at average, he added.
In the wake of criticism by bank customers over non availability of cash in several ATMs across Kakinada city and surrounding areas, the RM clarified that because of the continuous three holidays last week from Saturday to Monday and Independence Day on Thursday there was some gap in filling the ATMs. Otherwise we are following the guidelines of RBI, he clarified.
On the issue of frequent closure of some ATMs, the RM said that in some areas they have cash receipt provision in ATM machines. If any customer without removing rubber bands or pins to cash bundles or due to soiled notes, the ATM machine gets stuck affecting the transactions till the snag is removed by maintenance staff.
We appeal to customers to take care in this aspect while using the cash remittance machines, the RM said. In this connection Ram Mohan Rao also clarified that there is no bar on use of ATM cards for withdrawal of cash from SBI ATMs. He also appealed to ATM card holders not to opt for panic withdrawals of cash excess to their needs during holidays.
