Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal writes to AP govt, requests to send Disha act bill copy
It is a known fact that the AP government has introduced Disha act is for speedy trial of cases relating to crimes on women. AP approved the bill in the Assembly. This has led to nationwide appreciations over the law. The women's wings across the country are also praising Jagan's govt. There is also a demand that the bill be introduced in the rest of the country as well.
The Delhi government is said to be contemplating on the latest bill and asked the AP govt to send the full details regarding the law. AP Assembly Speaker Tammeneni Sitaram made this announcement in the Assembly. He said the Delhi government had praised the bill passed by the AP Assembly. the speaker appreciated the CM, the government, ministers and MLAs. The AP Assembly on Saturday approved the Disha act bill
According to law, the district court will be set up for trials on crimes against women and children. These courts act like fast-track courts to investigate the atrocities on women in particular.
The law specifies that the accused who post vulgar comments on social media are held and will be imprisoned for two years. It seems the bill is designed to give maximum life imprisonment to offenders, depending on the severity of the crime.
