Deputy CM Alla Nani assures pension for aged artistes
Eluru: Aged artistes have not been getting pension for seven months now. Their life has become miserable because of financial problems. They revealed their tale of woes to Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani at the latter's camp office here on Thursday.
They complained that the previous TDP government did not care for them. They used to receive pension once in every four months. Before elections, they were left in the lurch. For seven months, they were not getting pensions, they complained.
Responding to their plight, Nani assured them to find out reason for stoppage of pensions to them by enquiring the matter with officials of cultural affairs. He promised to ensure that the pensions released by the government at the earliest. Aged Artistes Welfare Association leaders D Ramarao, M Venkateswara Rao and others were among others who met the Dy CM.
