Develop tourist spots with support of global firms: CM to officials

Amaravati: In a bid to promote local tourism at global level, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy instructed the officials to enhance tourism potential in the State.

He also directed officials to establish cultural academy in every district. In addition to that, the Chief Minister has given his nod for the establishment of Archaeological Corporation in order to preserve the historical memories of the State, during a review meeting with the officials from Tourism and Culture department on Friday at his residence at Tadepalli in Guntur district.

The government identified 15 to 20 tourism places in the State. Jagan ordered to develop these tourism places with the help of international companies. All these places will be developed with world-class amenities.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to identify places that should be developed at international standards and make AP as the first priority for tourists who come to visit India.

In order to preserve the handicraft art, the Chief Minister asked the officials to provide financial assistance to artists from Kondapalli, Etikoppaka and Kalamkari villages. He ordered to prepare an activity plan for the same.

The officials have proposed development of tourism at Suryalanka, Horsely hills, Orvakal and Gandikota. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the officials to give detailed information again and include proposals for establishing Gandikota Adventure Academy, glass bridge on river and construction of ropeways at tourism places.

He instructed the officials to develop tourism at Polavaram, Pulichintala, Nagarjuna Sagar, Srisailam, Somashila, Kandaleru, Araku, Lambasingi, Paderu and a few prominent reservoirs and dams.

The Chief Minister also instructed the officials to prepare a plan for construction of sports complex in every district. He also suggesting setting up sports ground in every school.

Jagan approved the establishment of cricket stadiums with international standards at Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry or Kakinada, Amaravati and Tirupati. He said the YSRCP government is committed to provide financial assistance to sportspersons who get selected for national and international level competitions. Tourism, Archaeology and Youth Affairs Minister Muthamsetty Srinivas and higher officials of the department were present at the meeting.
