DIG, SP laud cops for smooth conduct of polling
Kurnool: D Nagendra Kumar, Kurnool Range Director General of Police (DIG), has said that polling completely successfully in the district with less number of untoward incidents compared to polling in 2014.
The DIG lauded the efforts of police personnel for discharging duties with utmost responsibility. He along with Superintendent of Police (SP), Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli participated as chief guest for the felicitation function organised by District Police Office (DPO) here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the DIG has appreciated police officials deputed for route mobile vehicles for doing a good job. "In 2014 elections, we have mobilised around 9,000 cops but the number has drastically come down to 6,000 this year.
Almost all police personnel from sub cadre to higher ranks have performed their duties with dedication. With the same spirit, we will complete the counting process that is due on May 23," the DIG said.
The SP patted trainee SP Vidya Sagar Naidu and DSPs for their efforts in conducting polls in a peaceful manner. Comparing the number of cases registered, he said this year only 15 cases were registered against 84 cases in 2014 polls. Later, the DIG and SP felicitated the officials for their outstanding performance in election process.
