Digital libraries to be set up in all districts: Minister Audimulapu Suresh in Ongole

Ongole: Education minister Audimulapu Suresh announced that the government would establish digital libraries in all districts.

The education minister along with the social welfare minister Pinipe Viswaroop and energy, forests, environment, science and technology minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy participated in the valedictory of the 52 National Library Week celebrations organised by the District Library Organisation at district library here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Suresh announced that the government was committed to the develop the libraries in the state. Stating that knowledge improves with the book reading habit, he advised the officials to popularise the importance of book reading and libraries. He asked the students to utilise the services of libraries and use the knowledge to carve out a bright career.

Suresh assured the villagers of Vinodarayuni Palem that a library would be constructed there as a token of respect to Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, who hailed from the village. He announced that all government schools would receive libraries under Naadu-Nedu programme, for the convenience of students.

District collector Pola Bhaskara, Kanigiri MLA Burra Madhusudan Yadav, AJC K Narendra Prasad, DEO V S Subbarao, RIO Subba Rao, AP Residential Schools secretary M R Prasanna Kumar, library secretary S Madhusudan Rao and students from various schools participated in the event.
