Doctors to contest against each other in elections

Narasaraopet: Doctors are playing a key role in Narasaraopet Assembly constituency. YSRCP candidate Dr Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy is contesting against the TDP candidate Dr Chadalavada Aravind Babu. They were rivals in 2019 Assembly elections also.

Dr Gopireddy was elected to the State Legislative Assembly from Narasaraopet Assembly constituency in 2014 and 2019. He is contesting again from the same constituency in 2024.

Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao was a good surgeon and contested against the Congress candidate Dr M Radha Krishna Murthy in Narasaraopet Assembly constituency in 1983. He was elected to the State Legislative Assembly for the first time.

He was elected to the State Legislative Assembly five times from the constituency. He was elected to the Assembly in 1983, 1985, 1989, 1994, and 1999. He worked as a minister for civil supplies, home, Medical and Health, Panchayat Raj, and Major Irrigation. He was the first Assembly Speaker after bifurcation of the state. In the 2024 Assembly elections, again doctor will represent the Narasaraopet Assembly constituency.
