Dr Kota Reddy assumes charge as VC of VIT
Amaravati: Dr SV Kota Reddy assumed charge as vice-chancellor (VC) of the Vellore Institute of Technology-AP here on Monday.
Chancellor of VIT-AP University Dr G Viswanathan appointed Dr Kota Reddy as Vice-Chancellor of the University in the presence of GV Selvam, vice-president of the university.
Dr D Subhakar handed over the charge to the new incumbent at a simple function on the campus premises.
A doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT-Bombay, Dr Kota Reddy earlier was the academic president of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai campus.
Speaking at the gathering of the faculty and staff members, Dr Kota Reddy urged the faculty members to focus on innovative research and asked the staff to extend full support to achieve the quality service to students.
Later, he held a meeting with the heads of the departments and gave directions for smooth delivery of services to the students, particularly in the conduct of classes and examinations in the prevailing situation.
Dean (Academics) Prof Jagadish Chandra Muduganti and Registrar Dr CLV Sivakumar were also present.
