DSP E Ashok Kumar Goud opens EVE shuttle badminton tourney in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The EVE Shuttle Badminton tournament was inaugurated by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) E Ashok Kumar Goud at Kothuru Tadepalli near here on Tuesday.

The three-day tournament is being organised by EVE chairman and engineer Ede Vedadri. As many as 40 junior and senior teams are participating in this tournament and the players came from Vijayawada Urban, Rural and G Konudur mandal villages.

Speaking on the occasion, the DSP advised the youth not to participate in cockfights and gambling and instead told them to participate in sports and other extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of their personalities .

He said sports and games would increase their self-confidence and help them to develop a team spirit. Ashok Kumar appreciated the organisers for conducting badminton tournament every year on the occasion of Sankranti.

Kothuru Tadepalli former vice-president Donthagani Venkateshwara Rao and others participated.
