Rajamahendravaram / Mandapeta: Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose has said that poverty should not be an obstacle for pursuing education and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy was very much particular in this regard.

Distributing financial assistance cards to the beneficiaries of Jagananna Vidya Deevena- Vasathi Deevena in the city and at Mandapeta on Monday, he said that the Chief Minister was paying fee to college students and also extending financial assistance to their mothers through bank accounts.

Under the 'Amma Vodi' scheme also' the State government is paying an amount of Rs 15,000 to the mothers whose children are studying from first to Intermediate, he added.

Under Vasathi Deevena scheme also the government is paying an amount of Rs 10,000 to ITI students, Rs 15,000 to polytechnic students and Rs 20,000 for degree students.

He said that all the welfare schemes were being implemented effectively in the State and every beneficiary was getting the fruits of the schemes. The literacy ratio in the state is 67 percent where as the literacy ratio is 72 percent in the country. The chief minister was putting his endeavour to achieve 100 percent literacy in the state and implementing many schemes in this regard, he added.

Municipal Commissioner Ram Kumar, mandal development officer P Gowthami, YSRCP leades T Vanaja, Ramudu and others were present on the occasion.
