Elaborate rituals to mark Sri Gaura Purnima
Visakhapatnam: Hare Krishna Movement is readying the stage to celebrate 'Sri Gaura Purnima' in an enticing manner at VUDA Children's Theatre on Thursday. The celebration marks the appearance of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who founded Gaudiya Vaishnavism religious movement.
Deities of Nitai-Gauranga will be given a celestial bath, sourcing water from seven rivers. Besides 'abhishekam', rituals such as 'panchamrutha', 'panchagavya' and 'pancha-aushadhi snana' will also be held on the occasion.
A variety of fresh flowers procured from different places will be used for decorating the idols. 'Sankirtan', discourse on the importance of Sri Chaitanya Prabhu, 'intinta' Nitai Gauranga and 'mangala arati', form a part of celebrations that will continue at theatre from 6 to 8:30 pm.
