Elaborate security for President visit: SP
Tirupati: Elaborate security arrangements involving a big contingent of 1,700 police force including all cadres are being made for the visit of President Ramnath Kovind to Tirumala.
Tirupati Urban SP KKN Anburajan reviewed the security arrangements to be made in airport, Tirupati and Tirumala for the visit of the President on July 13 and 14, with senior officials in his office on Thursday.
The SP said as Governor ESL Narasimhan and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are also arriving to Tirupati to receive and accompany the President on his Tirumala visit, extensive security measures are initiated from Renigunta airport to Tirumala hills to ensure the successful and smooth conduct of the VVIPs visit.
Accordingly, combing of both up and down ghat roads by special force is taken up ahead of President visit, the SP said adding that the dog and bomb squads deployed were checking all along the routes from airport to Tirumala.
In all, about 1,700 police personnel including 4 Commandants (SP rank officials), 6 Additional SPs, 22 DSPs, 35 CIs, 75 SIs, 300 ASI/HCs, police constables 400, special police 200, APSP 3 companies and 470 police personnel brought from other districts were involved in the massive security arrangements to check any untoward incidents during the VVIP visit. Tirupati Urban police officials including Additional SPs, DSPs and others were present.
