Elect 25 TDP MPs in ensuing polls, Lokesh appeals to people
Guntur: Minister for IT Nara Lokesh said that if the voters in the State elect 25 TDP MPs in the coming elections, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will decide the next Prime Minister of the country.
This will ensure that the State gets the Special Category Status, the Minister said. Lokesh took part in campaign in Duggirala mandal of Mangalagiri Assembly constituency in Guntur district on Sunday. Speaking on this occasion, he pointed out that Guntur MP Galla Jayadev pulled up Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha for denying SCS to the State.
He alleged that the when the TDP MPs were mounting pressure over the Centre for SCS, the BJP-led NDA government directed ED and IT officials to conduct raids on the TDP MPs and leaders. Lokesh criticised the Centre for cheating the people of the State.
He said that despite non-cooperation from the Centre, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was constructing the State capital and successfully implemented welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor.
He assured that if elected, he will develop Mangalagiri constituency as the best Assembly constituency in the State and he would be within the reach of people to solve their problems.
Lokesh visited Godavarru, Veerlapalem, Pedapalem and Chinapalem and interacted with women, elders and farmers and inquired about their problems. He pointed out that welfare schemes introduced by Chandrababu Naidu were benefiting all the sections of the people.
The government was extending financial assistance to self-help groups under Pasupu-Kumkuma scheme, the Minister pointed out. Earlier, women welcomed Lokesh and gave him harathi. He was accompanied by MP Galla Jayadev, Mangalagiri Municipal chairman Ganji Chiranjeevi and other TDP leaders.
