Elephant dies from electrocution in Chittoor district

A tusker died of electric shock near Tekumanda village in Bangarupalem mandal in Chittoor district. According to information, the elephant while fleeing along with its herd back to forest hit to an electric pole which broke leading to the tusker sustaining electric shock resulting in death.

A herd of elephants strayed into the fields late in the night damaging crops.The forest personnel who reached the village along with 'trackers' drove the herd of elephants from the fields to the forest nearby. While the elephants moving back to the woods, one of the elephants collided with a current pole and died.
