Eluru: The city unit of CPM demanded that the administration should take strict measures to contain Covid-19, which is spreading alarmingly in the city.

Addressing the media here on Friday, the party city secretary P Kishore expressed concern that red zone areas has increased in the city and there is no control over the virus. The cases were increased after relaxations given to lockdown. He demanded that the government immediately close down liquor shops to stop the virus from spreading. In busy markets, the authorities should arrange hand wash facility and sanitizer for the benefit of the people. People entering the city should be examined thoroughly before allowing them. An all-party meeting should be convened with the participation of trade and commerce representatives to discuss the problem, he demanded.

The party leaders, B Jagannadharao, K Ramanjaneyulu, Ch Rajyalakshmi and others were present.
