Eluru: Disha police ensure women's safety
Eluru: A Disha Police Station was inaugurated here on Sunday, to mark the International Women' Day. District Collector R Muthyala Raju, accompanied by Eluru Range DIG KV Mohana Rao and Superintendent of Police Navdeep Singh Grewal inaugurated the police station.
Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector said that women would get safety round-the-clock with the new police station. The Disha Act introduced by the state government would be of great help to women, he said.
He called upon women and college girls to download Disha app and seek help of the police at the time of facing any problem from attackers. The Disha Act would enable them get justice within stipulated time as the act proposes speedy trial of the accused.
DIG Mohanarao urged women not to hesitate seek police help when they really need it.
