Eluru: Farmers under the auspices of AP Rytu Sangham resolved at a meeting to oppose Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) and fight with Union government for support prices to their produce.

Addressing the meeting at Anne Bhavan here on Tuesday, the sangham district secretary K Srinivas said that the BJP government's act of asking people to prove their citizenship was atrocious. As per the Constitution, all those who born in India are citizens of the country and they need not prove their citizenship.

The government which has been spending Rs 60,000 crore on implementation of citizenship act had totally ignored farm sector and not coming to the rescue of farmers committing suicide because of the wrong policies of the government, he alleged.
