Eluru: Health Minister Alla Nani inspects overhead tanks, water pipelines
Eluru: Health minister Alla Kali Srinivas (Nani) visited the colonies in 14 and 15 municipal divisions in Eluru on Tuesday and verified the water quality. After the mysterious illness broke out in some parts of Eluru city three days ago, the Health Minister was conducting meetings with the officials and inspecting the drinking water overhead tanks, drinking water pipelines and chlorination of water in the city.
As part of it, the minister inspected the water in overhead tanks in Parameswara colony in 14 division and another overhead tank near the ward secretariat in 15 division. He enquired how the water was purified by the municipal authorities and spoke to the residents.
He also inspected the drinking water pipelines in other parts of the city and instructed the officials to check the water leakages from the pipelines. He said the state government was taking all measures to diagnose the patients suffered from mystery illness. He appealed to the people not to be panicked with the mystery illness and added that the number of cases gradually decreasing on Tuesday.
He said medical camps were set up at 62 places in the city and people can visit the camps to get treatment. He further said 108 ambulances were also kept ready for the convenience of the people. He visited the Kothapeta and checked out the drinking water quality and spoke to the residents.
Alla Nani conducted a meeting with the municipal officials and reviewed the sanitation conditions in the city, particularly in the areas where mysterious illness cases reported. He asked the officials to continue the sanitization drive four more days.
