Eluru: Joint Collector Tej Bharat launches Kanti Velugu 3
Eluru: Joint Collector -2 Tej Bharat inaugurated the third phase of Kanti Velugu programme at the ward secretariat in Sanivarapupeta on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken the initiative and instructed the officials concerned to conduct Kanti Velugu programme across the State.
He said the third phase of Kanti Velugu is for the senior citizens and recalled that earlier eye testing was conducted to 5 lakh children in West Godavari district.
He said 32,000 spectacles were distributed to the children and surgeries were performed to 11,000 the children. Referring to Kanti Velugu third phase, he said the village volunteers will give information to the elderly people about the eye testings and the staff will collect the data same day.
He said that doctors play very important role in eye testing and performing surgeries to the children and elderly people. Medical Board council director Dr D Vara Prasad, district Red Cross Society chairman M Jaya Prakash and others attended the meeting.
