Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju warned the staff of ward/village secretariats of action if they failed to maintain records and not available to people.

He conducted surprise inspection of secretariat at Pulla, PHC in Bhimadole, MRO office in Pentapadu and residential school at Arugolanu village in Tadepalligudem mandal on Thursday.

He took serious note of poor maintenance of records at Pulla secretariat and expressed displeasure with VRO. He questioned as to why the staff failed to arrange boards relating to services available at the secretariat.

He said secretariats are a boon to people who need not go to distant places for various services. It is the responsibility of the officials to maintain the secretariats properly, he said. Any negligence in the discharge of services will not be spared, he warned.

The District Collector enquired about services available to patients at Bhimadole PHC. He verified records and directed the staff to be available to people and extend medical services. At residential school in Arugolanu, he interacted with teachers and students and verified facilities available. He asked the teachers to impart quality education with discipline.
