Eluru police bag 'A' category award for arresting Cyanide Simhadri

Eluru: The Eluru sub-division police achieved the 'A' category award for the successful tracking and arrest of culprit in sensational murders by using cyanide under the limits of Three-Town police station of Eluru in October 2019.

DGP D Gautam Sawang presented the ABCD (Award for the Best Crime Detection) category awards at the State police office on Wednesday.

Eluru sub-division police got the award for arresting the culprit Vellanki Simhadri known as Cyanide Simhadri, who had brutally murdered 10 persons by offering Prasadam mixed with poison. He also killed some other persons to rob cash and gold. The police even not having adequate evidences initially managed to collect clues and successfully unravelled the mystery of murders. The issue became sensation in 2019. Under the supervision of Eluru DSP Dr O Dilip, the Eluru rural CI A Srinivasa Rao, Sub-inspector Chava Suresh and other police personnel received the award from the DGP on Wednesday at the State DGP office. A Nageswara Rao, V Seetaiah and N Kishore received the A category award for the arrest of notorious criminal.
