Eluru:Discount on handloom, handicraft products

Eluru: A 15-day-long handloom and handicrafts exhibition-cum-sale commenced here on Sunday. Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani inaugurated the expo.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the State government has been encouraging handloom by extending financial assistance of Rs 21,000 annually under Cheneta Nestam scheme which benefits weavers who owns a handloom.

The expo is intended to sell quality handloom products at affordable prices.

Besides handloom clothes, healthy products, handicraft articles will be on sale at the expo which offers 20 per cent discount on handlooms and 10 per cent on other products.
