Enforcement agencies told to coordinate well in view of polls

Secretariat (Velagapudi): The state-level enforcement agencies should work in coordination to reduce the influence of money and liquor during the elections, said chief electoral officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena while addressing the officials of various enforcement agencies through video conference from here on Tuesday.

The CEO said that a special app would be introduced soon to achieve better coordination between the various agencies. He responded positively to the raids being conducted by various enforcement agencies as part of the preparation to the forthcoming elections. However, the raids should not cause inconvenience to people, he said.

Referring to the seizure of cash, the CEO said that if the cash amount is more than Rs 10 lakh only it should be seized and handed over to the Income Tax department.

Law and order IG Venkatrami Reddy, commercial tax special commissioner Anand, excise department additional commissioner Deva Kumar, Transport department Additional commissioner Prasad Rao, SEB deputy commissioner Sri Devi and deputy CEO Visweswara Rao, Assistant CEO Tatabbayi were present. The officials of various state and central enforcement agencies participated in the video conference.
