Epilepsy wing at Kamineni launched in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Epilepsy could affect people of all age groups, said neurologist V Naveen Kumar, COO, Kamineni Hospital.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, Dr Naveen Kumar said that patients suffering from brain, spine and particularly epilepsy were getting treatment in Hyderabad.

He said an exclusive wing to treat epilepsy patients has been inaugurated at Kamineni Hospital and patients can get the latest and advanced treatment here. He said alcohol consumption, head injuries, paralysis, brain tumors, hereditary reasons and stress were csome of the causes that lead to epilepsy.

With the advanced technology and treatment available, 70 percent epilepsy patients could be cured by using medicines and in the rest of the cases surgery is needed, he said. Dr M Srinivas and Dr U Sridhar Narayana were present on the occasion.
